Ranger

Ranger
๐Ÿน SKIRMISHER

Archer at range - invisible for the first 2 turns, relies on evasion and precision shots from a distance.

How it plays

A front-loaded class. Winged Feet gives a large dodge bonus for the opening rounds and then stops, so a Ranger is trying to end fights inside a window that closes on its own. Weak Point ignores armor, which makes it one of the two reliable answers to a tank, and Explosive Shot adds burn on top. Ranger duels are decided early or not in the Ranger's favour.

Passive

Winged Feet +20% dodge chance for the first 2 rounds of combat.

Skills

Explosive Round ยท Lv 10

Chance to set the target on fire.

Weak Point Shot ยท Lv 25

Chance for a guaranteed crit with an increased multiplier.

Stat priority

  1. 1. AGI (damage + dodge + HP)
  2. 2. LUCK (crits + sniper procs)
  3. 3. END (HP)

Why those stats

Agility is damage, dodge and health at once. Luck is unusually valuable here because Ranger is the only class that converts Luck into crit damage as well as crit chance, so it scales harder than it looks. Endurance is the concession to fights that go long.

The common mistake

Playing for the long game. The opening dodge bonus is the class's whole defensive budget; once it expires a Ranger is a low-health character standing in the open. Gear for the burst, not for round twelve.
